Undergraduate Transfer Guide

Engineers create bold solutions that shape our everyday lives. Using problem-solving and critical thinking, they design, build, and innovate to drive change. University of Cincinnati’s College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) is at the forefront of this change and innovation. Surrounded by a vibrant student community and world-renowned faculty, engineering and applied science students at Cincinnati have a wide range of opportunities to be leaders and push the limits of what’s next.

At the University of Cincinnati, transfer students are valued members of the CEAS community. Whether arriving from a two-year college or another university, they bring unique perspectives and experiences that enrich the classroom and campus. CEAS is committed to helping transfer students thrive — from personalized advising and academic support to career preparation and hands-on learning through co-op.

Cooperative Education (co-op) was invented here in 1906, and we haven't stopped reinventing it. Students alternate between semesters of coursework and paid full-time work in their field. Depending on their incoming academic credit, transfer students into CEAS spend three to five semesters on co-op before they graduate. Students work at a variety of places, including Fortune 500 companies, research organizations, and government agencies. With the knowledge and experience gained on co-op, you will graduate with a degree and a career plan.

For transfer students at the College of Engineering and Applied Science, the ACCEND (Accelerated Engineering Degree) program is a great way to make the most of their time at UC. If transfer credits create gaps in their schedule, ACCEND allows them to take graduate-level courses while finishing their undergraduate degree. This means students can get a head start on a master's degree in engineering or an MBA, making their education even more efficient and impactful. Instead of just catching up, transfer students can get ahead, graduating with an advanced degree and a competitive edge in their careers.
