Instructions for faculty/staff using Windows

1.    Connect to the UC network

  • Off Campus - If you are not connected to the UC network and you are off campus, follow the instructions to connect to UC’s secure VPN (Virtual Private Network).

[If you have problems connecting to the UC SSL VPN, please call the DTS Service Desk at 556-4357.]

2.    Right Click “This PC” in Windows File Explorer.

3.   Select “Map network drive” (see Figure 1.)

4.    The “Map Network Drive” dialog box will appear (see Figure 2.)

5.    For “Drive:”, choose a drive letter (or leave it at Z:) using the drop-down arrow to the right.

6.    For “Folder:”, type the path specified below, replacing the [dept id] with your department abbreviation and replacing the [6+2username] with your “6+2” username (Ex: doejt1).

  • Type the path shown below: \\ceasfs1.ad.uc.edu\ceas_users\users\[dept id]\[6+2 username]
    \\ceasfs1.ad.uc.edu\ceas_users\users\MME\doejt1

  • The following is a list of department abbreviations: Admin, AEEM, BME, CAECM, CHEE, DEE, EECS, MME

7.    Make sure the check box for “Reconnect at logon” is checked. 

8.    Click “Finish”.

9.    The “Windows Security” dialog box will appear (see Figure 3.)

10.    Type ceas1\[6+2username] and password. Replace the [6+2username] with your “6+2” username. Ex. “doejt1”.

If you receive the following dialogue box (see Figure 4), fill out your credentials again.

11.    Click “OK”.

12.    After a few seconds, the network drive will be mapped.

Instructions for students using Windows

1.    Use the same instructions as above. 

2.    Your network folder path would be:
\\ceasfs1.ad.uc.edu\students\[6+2 username] 

3.    User your central login (CLS) credentials to connect.
